RISE Peer Recovery has been awarded $29,936 from United Way of Daviess County to support Peer Recovery Coaches in providing temporary housing for individuals entering into or actively in treatment.
“One of the biggest barriers to recovery is the lack of stable housing during treatment,” said Zella Taylor, CEO/Executive Director of United Way of Daviess County. “A night or weekend in a hotel isn’t enough to rebuild a life or a future.”
Carole Smith, Chair of the UWDC board stated, “I am so pleased that United Way of Daviess County is able to partner with the RISE Peer Recovery team! This award enables RISE to offer the steppingstone of safe, temporary housing to those who are choosing to make healthier decisions for themselves and their future. We are working together to help build a strong healthy community!”
"We are pleased to partner with United Way of Daviess County to provide safe, short-term housing solutions for the clients we serve." said Brian Peek Executive Director RISE Peer Recovery. "This collaboration will offer individuals a stable and supportive environment, creating the foundation needed for lasting recovery. While in this safe space, we will work closely with each client to develop personalized recovery plans and identify long-term, sustainable housing solutions."
