This is what it looks like when partners come together to support safety, awareness, and prevention in our community.
United Way of Daviess County presented our Safety and Awareness Program in Odon, joined by community partners who helped share resources and information, including:
- Jenny and Hannah at Odon Senior Citizens for hosting bingo and providing the facility.
- Gina at Parkview Village Christian Care for providing lunch.
- Haley Matteson at First Savings Bank of Odon for helping capture our event and provide prizes for our raffle. Haley also sits on our board.
- Chuck Milton, Major, with the Daviess County Sheriff's Office, Angela Quest with the City of Washington, Hazardous Waste Management, and Officer Scott Noble with the Odon PD, helping to present.

United Way of Daviess County recently presented at the Washington Housing Authority at the Towers as part of our Safety and Awareness Program.
During the presentation, residents received education and resources on the proper disposal and safe storage of medications and syringes. Participants enjoyed raffle prizes and received sharps containers, medication deactivation kits, and lockboxes—helping promote safer homes and healthier communities.
A special thank-you to Shawnee for providing lunch to accompany the program. Based on participant surveys, 100% of attendees reported the program to be helpful and valuable.

Residents received free medication lockboxes, sharps containers, and deactivation kits to help keep their homes and loved ones safe. Based on participant surveys, 100% of attendees reported that the program was helpful and valuable.
